About me

I am a passionate educator with twelve years of experience in the development and implementation of programmes and curriculums for institutes of higher education. Over the years, I have created and taught courses in corporate communication, storytelling, philosophy and sociology of the arts, comparative literature and life writing.

As a researcher, all my research and publications are in some way about border thinking (the way humans conceive of themselves as opposed to something or someone else) as manifested and discussed in the stories we tell. My current research focuses on applied narratology and practices of storytelling.

I hold a PhD in Cultural Studies (University of Groningen), an MA in Comparative Literature/Research and Education (Cum Laude, University of Groningen) and BAs in Comparative Art Studies and Scaninavian Languages and Cultures/Swedish (Lund University and University of Groningen).

In case you were wondering: my name is easier than it looks. It is pronounced Shoort-Yaroon Moonandar (with 'oo' as in 'moon').
